Matthias is founder and managing partner of mojo.capital, a collaborative investment management firm to capitalise on the digital opportunity in Europe. mojo.capital invests in the most promising European-born digital technology growth companies through and alongside Funds, Business Angels and Family offices. 

Prior to mojo.capital, Matthias has been building and leading European Investment Fund’s Technology Investment business since 2001. He has been invested and was involved with some of the most dynamic and successful Fund Managers, Business Angels and Family offices to emerge in Europe in the last 16 years. Under his leadership, EIF’s technology investment business has grown substantially, with over EUR 4.7bn committed in or alongside more than 260 Funds, Business Angels and Family Offices at the time he left in September 2014. He had a key role in raising and managing major third party technology investment mandates such as the ERP-EIF Dachfonds, the UK Future Technologies Fund, the Dutch Venture Initiative or co-investment mandates such as the European Angels Fund.He joined EIF after working at European Investment Bank (EIB) where he advised a member of Executive Board and was involved in project financing transactions in the infrastructure sector.Matthias is constantly engaged in the technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem as investor, mentor, advisor and board member and his contributions to building and financing a European Venture Capital Ecosystem have been widely recognized.He holds a B.S. in Technical Economics from the University of Karlsruhe, a M.S. in International Finance from the University of Aix-Marseille II, a DEA in Transport Economics and Logistics Management and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the same University.
