Throughout her 25-year career, Fara Warner has worked in every storytelling medium from traditional print newspapers to virtual reality. In the past decade, she has brought together technology and storytelling to create compelling and highly successful digital and print storytelling programs starting with her successful book on women and economic power, The Power of the Purse, to the immersive storytelling program This Built America, which combined documentary video, photography and powerful writing on a flexible technology platform, to bring the story of American manufacturing to life.
As global content director at WSJ. Custom Studios, Warner combines powerful technology and emotive storytelling techniques to create immersive programs for a deep portfolio of national and international brands and companies.
Warner was previously the editorial director of Aol Tech, Business and Entertainment Group, overseeing editorial strategy and teams for leading technology blogs, TechCrunch, and Engadget, At Aol, she launched the new platform, This Built America. She was formerly the editorial director of international special editions at Newsweek/DailyBeast and has held editorial positions at Fast Company and The Wall Street Journal. She is the recipient of the Howard R. Marsh Visiting Professorship at the University of Michigan where she taught digital storytelling. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and was a 2005-2006 Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan.
